Hunting, a sensitive subject

Emmanuel Macron announced at the end of August to the representatives of the hunters, whom he had received for nearly three hours, that the price of the national hunting license will be halved. The National Federation of Hunting (FNC) hopes that this reform will allow a renewal of this practice. The number of hunters in France continues to decline (1.12 million assets against 2.4 million in the mid-1970s).

Hunting has been allowed throughout France since 23 September for game animals with hairs and feathers. Regularly, tensions appear between walkers and hunters. In Anjou in September, an equestrian hike was disrupted by a wild boar hunt, provoking the wrath of the organizers.
