The Sheikh Zayed Book Award yesterday announced the winners of its thirteenth session 2018/2019, which included five international writers and writers, as well as an Arab research center, in honor of their outstanding creative and intellectual work, reflecting a philosophical and artistic approach that enriches Literary writing and culture.
The writer and novelist Bensalem Hamish from Morocco won the book "The Self Between Being and Creation", published by the Cultural Center of the Book for Publishing and Distribution in 2018, while the writer Hussein Al-Mutawa from Kuwait won the book "Children's Literature and Youth" «I dream of being a cement mixer», issued by Gardens House in 2018, and won the researcher Dr. Abdel Razzaq Balakrouz of Algeria in the «young author», his book «the spirit of values and freedom of concepts towards the process of re-linking and integration between the system of values and social sciences», issued by Arab Foundation for Thought and Creativity in 2017. The researcher won Dr. Charbel Dagher of Lebanon won the prize of the branch of «Arts and Monetary Studies» for the book «Modern Arabic poetry: Prose poem», issued by the Knowledge Forum in 2018.
In the "Arabic Culture in Other Languages" section, academic scholar Philip Kennedy of the United Kingdom won his book "Exposition in the Arabic Literary Heritage," published by the Edinburgh University Press in 2016. The cultural personality of the year will be announced during the coming period. The award ceremony will be held on Thursday 25 April at the Palazzo Theater - Louvre Abu Dhabi, where the winner of the Cultural Personality of the Year award will receive a gold medal with the Sheikh Zayed Book Award and a certificate of appreciation. Winners of the other branches receive a gold medal and a certificate of appreciation, as well as a prize of AED 750,000.
