I have had a tradition of 10 years ago to re-watch the films I have seen in the recent and distant past, or to hear the songs I have listened to for a decade or more, and sometimes even serials.
I do this to make sure my taste, whether it is changed or not, is not changed by time. Experience has amazing results, especially when I discover a small or large change in my taste. The film that impressed me in the nineties, for example, I see a farce today! And other films I have loved in the past and are still attached to.
The same thing for songs, I tend more to the old Gulf songs, because they accompanied me since childhood, and were the highlights of stations of my life, an integral part of my culture. I loved the art of Mohammed Abdo more than any other, because his songs were cracked in our house in the eighties, which was the beginning of the establishment of my personality.
The same thing applies to the English, French and American people, each of whom grew up in the music emanating from his culture. The taste review process is necessary because it reveals new dimensions in your personality that you did not know existed.
Taste, or sense of preference, a factor developed over time linked to culture and educational values and past. If you are a reader, you love deep films with philosophical meanings. If you are a technical obsession, science fiction may be more intense. Similarly, if it is based on the values of courage, helping others, fighting corruption and supporting the oppressed, you will be inclined to every work of art that contains those noble values.
Changing a taste is not an internal decision, such as changing clothes or buying a car. It starts as a self-revision process. It is not an easy process, and sometimes it is confusing and frightening. It is a bold step that has changed a lot from the current result.
The artistic taste is different from other tastes, such as eating, dressing and decorating. If you have a taste in food and mash, for example, this does not mean that you will look at the history of the eater. If you like the fashion of the 1930s in clothes, you will definitely not wear a round head cap and go for walks in the markets! If a girl dresses in her twenties and comes out of the house to think of people represented in a series, for example, even the perception of people reflects that the girl represents another world, and not serious wearing the 1920s.
But if your taste is artistic, you will definitely decide to discover the past of the works you love. It will not stop at the ones you loved in your childhood, or in your teenager, and you will go very far from the limits of your shell.
The change and evolution of taste is a process associated with experience, admiration of the work of art and you in the twenty lack of experience and culture, and often think a final opinion, and with time you have a gradual knowledge of this art and factors of evaluation, and thus become more selective taste. It is useful to put some doubt in your final opinion, regarding any work of art, in respect of time changes. In the end the responsibility is increased by knowledge.
