The largest diamond of 552 carats was found in Canada

At the Diavik mine in the Northwest Territories of Canada, a yellow diamond weighing 552 carats (more than 110 grams) was found, writes Bloomberg.

An unusual diamond the size of a chicken egg has become the largest find in the history of North America.

Experts called its color "fantasy yellow."

It is noted that the diamond is of jewelry quality and has no damage, it will be subjected to further processing.

The Canadian yellow diamond ranked seventh in size among those found in the 20th century and is among the thirty largest gems found in history.

Earlier it was reported that the largest yellow diamond in 2018 was mined in Yakutia.
