We are sad to announce that on the evening of November 17, 2018, in the 87th year of life, after a long illness, the founder and artistic director of the Saturday Theater, Professor Yury Aleksandrovich Smirnov-Nesvitsky, died, ”the theater said on Facebook.

The press service noted that Smirnov-Nesvitsky was the largest researcher of the history of the national theater of the 20th century and always remained an idealist.

The place and time of parting with him will be announced later.

Theater "Saturday" was founded in 1969. Over the years director Semyon Spivak, composer Grigory Gladkov, actor Konstantin Khabensky and others worked there.
