Since 1961, Frolov was in the troupe of the Moscow Sovremennik Theater. Before his death, he played the productions “Cherry Orchard”, “Steep Route”, “Playing ... Schiller!”, “Three Comrades” and many others.
Also Frolov starred in 57 films.
In 1980 he received the title of Honored Artist of the RSFSR, in 1992 - People's Artist of Russia.
