In the dispute over the cancellation of a concert of the punk band Fine Cream Fish Filet in Dessau, the singer of the group, Jan "Monchi" Gorkow, has now spoken up. He criticized the Bauhaus Foundation with clear words.
The "Stuttgarter Nachrichten" Gorkow said: "We found the statement from the Bauhaus very pathetic." And: "Everything the Bauhaus Dessau has done from the beginning is very embarrassing."
There is also the dismissal of the press spokeswoman. Helga Huskamp had been released, but the decision was temporary, it was said last Friday from the Foundation. Gorkow now emphasizes that Huskamp is a pawn sacrifice for him: "If the Bauhaus were serious, they would have invited us again and would not simply have nodded in front of the Nazis." Now I feel unworthy of the Bauhaus looking for alibis. "

The rejection of fine cream fish fillet had been criticized as a break in the right scene. Creative artists and architects protested with an open letter against the concert cancellation. Saxony-Anhalt's Minister of Culture Rainer Robra (CDU) had defended her against it. The radio station MDR culture Robra said that a political confrontation is incompatible with the Bauhaus.
Claudia Perren, director of the Bauhaus Dessau, admitted that there were communicative mistakes after the subsequent massive criticism. For Jan Gorkow, the discussion was also helpful: "It was also impressive for us to see that a lot of people have clearly positioned themselves and started great campaigns."
Fine cream fish fillet will now appear on 6 November in the Old Brewery in Dessau. The tickets for the concert were sold out on Friday in no time. For the "promotion" Gorkow thanks in the interview: "The gift basket would of course get the Bauhaus."
