The finish line in Guadeloupe was initially scheduled to close on 2 December at 2 pm It is now shifted to December 7, 2018 14 h. The amendment to the instructions published on Tuesday leaves an additional 5 days for competitors to finish their race. This decision was taken because of the particular weather conditions forcing a third of the fleet to take shelter. "It was necessary to give them more chances for the slowest boats to finish their race," explains Jacques Caraës.
