From October 24 to November 4, every night, a free scenography will enliven the ramparts. With Ouest-France and the marine baths of Saint-Malo, the company Spectaculaires has imagined a homage in sound and light to the ten winners of the Route du Rhum.
Located south of Rennes, in the small town of Saint-Thurial, the company Spectaculaires-Allumeurs d'images designs illuminations shows that travel throughout the world, in Brazil, Vietnam, Italy, Switzerland or in France. Belgium. For the Route du Rhum, Ouest-France and the thermal baths of Saint-Malo have used his expertise to imagine a scenography projected on the ramparts of Saint-Malo.
Every night, after dark
Entitled "Tribute to the winners" , this free show will be offered every night, after dark. "We wanted to dress the walls in an original way, says Benoit Quéro, founder and CEO of the Breton company. The bias was not to resume the tone around the basins, with large screens that are reminiscent of TV shows. Our register is more poetic. "
30 minutes of show in loop
To begin, for twenty minutes, the ramparts come alive with origami paper boats, which sail between Saint-Malo and Guadeloupe. Suddenly, they give way to a series of paintings where the water and the wind intermingle, as if the spectators were immersed in an aquatic universe. "It's a bit like the sea was gaining the ramparts. The sea, the real one, is right next to it, " says Benoit Quéro.
A time machine
Finally, for ten minutes, it is the tribute to the ten winners of the Route du Rhum. As a captivating machine to go back in time, from 1978 to the present day. "Each skipper is presented with a different background, in turn presents Yves Gomez, the designer of the project. The sound material plays an important role, it gives strength to the images: we hear the water, the wind, but also the tubes of the era that we listened to on the radio and the sound of the presses ... "
The "Unes" of the newspaper Ouest-France
For each winner of his time: the images projected on the ramparts scroll the "Unes" of the newspaper Ouest-France, to recall the topics that dominated the news, whether local or international. In total, the scenography projected on the ramparts lasts 30 minutes. It repeats itself in a loop each evening, so that the public can without constraint of schedules.
