One of Peter Maffay's most famous songs contains the following lines of text: "I was 16 and she was 31 / and I did not know much about love". But unlike in the song "And it was summer" is in the real life of the rock star at least the thing with the age difference in reverse.
The 69-year-old musician has now become a father again. Earlier this month, his 40-year-old partner Hendrikje gave birth to a child, according to the Management Mafays of the dpa news agency. The "Bild" newspaper reported that the two had become parents of a healthy girl. The birth took place in Bavaria.
Maffay had met the 31-year-old teacher from East Germany in October 2015. Shortly thereafter, he separated from his fourth wife Tania, with whom he has a son. The two were married for twelve years by a civil registry - and only shortly before Maffay's relationship with his current partner became known, did the church become married.
"We decided to stay together, even though we know that there are some pieces left and right", the "Bild" newspaper quoted Maffay at the time.
Maffay was born in Brasov, Romania. In 1970 he became known to a large audience with the single "Du". Later, he switched from pop music to rock music. He also had great success with the "Tabaluga" fairy tales.
