Such an assignment, according to the Kremlin press service, was given on the basis of a meeting of the Council for Culture and Art, which took place on December 15.

As noted, it is necessary to give the Federal Fund of Social and Economic Support for National Cinematography functions to provide targeted financial assistance in the “production and distribution of national films for children and family audiences.”

It is instructed to provide “starting from 2019 an increase of 1 billion rubles annually in the size of the budget subsidy to support domestic cinematography”.

In the summer of 2018, it became known that the share of domestic cinema in the Russian film distribution was a record 40%.
