Pope Benedict XVI, the Catholic Church, and the Grand Imam of the Grand Imam Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Sheikh of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, today unveiled a collection of artworks presented for the first time from the Louvre Abu Dhabi Museum, which celebrates different cultures from all over the world. The briefing was also attended by His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and Minister of State Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh.

His Holiness and the Grand Imam of the Department of Culture and Tourism, Mohammed Khalifa Al-Mubarak, listened to the most important of these collections, which are the core of the Louvre Abu Dhabi Art Collection and contains many religious pieces that belong to different religions and beliefs to cover the history of mankind.

The pieces included a medieval painting depicting Jesus Christ showing his wounds (1515 - 20 AD) and a collection of heavenly books, including a copy of the Holy Qur'an dating back to the Mamluk period (1250 - 1300 AD), another from the Torah (1498 AD) and a gothic gospel (1250- (800-1000 m) from the Zayed National Museum Collection, as well as an explanation of the content of the "World Religions" exhibition hall, which contains pieces of different religions displayed alongside each other Promoting cultural exchange.

The artifacts will be presented to the public and visitors from next Tuesday at the Louvre museum.
