Two men who kissed in a VTC in the night from Sunday to Monday were beaten by their driver, facts that are part of a recent series of homophobic attacks in Paris, we learned this Friday of source police.

The attack took place around 1 am in the 12th arrondissement of the capital. While his two passengers exchange a kiss, the driver suddenly stops the race, gets them out of the car and says he does not carry people like "them" .

The victims complained

The couple of customers then tries to get their luggage in the trunk but the driver prevents them and then gives a punch to one and kicks to the other. Several homophobic attacks have taken place in Paris in recent weeks. On September 18, a young comedian was insulted and beaten while he was with his companion at the exit of a theater.

On October 6, two men were assaulted by two people while exchanging a kiss. One of the perpetrators was sentenced to one year in prison.

On Tuesday, the president of Urgences Homophobie, an aid association for LGBT foreigners in danger in their country, was beaten at the exit of a restaurant in the 2nd arrondissement.

SOS Homophobia calls for a rally this Sunday

According to the police prefecture, homophobic acts between January and September, however, are down 37% in the capital compared to 2017 over the same period (74 reported facts against 118).

SOS Homophobia and the Inter-LGBT have called for a rally on Sunday Republic Square in Paris in support of the victims and to call on the government to take action "against LGBTphobies" .
