During a deployment in a refugee home in Bad Honnef, North Rhine-Westphalia, a policeman shot and injured his arm. The police said the 30-year-old was taken to a hospital. He is therefore not in mortal danger.

According to the police, the officers had escorted employees of the immigration office to the accommodation early in the morning because the Senegalese were to be deported. However, the man then drew a knife, there had been a "threat situation". Finally, one of the two policemen shot.

The exact course of the incident is still under investigation. Officials of the Cologne Kriminalkommissariats have taken over the investigation.
