At an unrestricted railroad crossing in Dorsten, a motorist died in a collision with a regional train. The train caught the car driving over the rails on the driver's side and dragged it along for about 150 meters, as the District Police Department Recklinghausen reported.

The 63-year-old died according to the information still at the accident site. The engine driver had suffered a shock, the 14 passengers in the passenger train had remained unhurt, police said. The investigation of the cause of the accident continued.
