Emirates Airline, Etihad Airways, Flydubai, Air Arabia and the Emirates Cavalry Team have organized a joint air show to mark the 47th National Day of the UAE and to commemorate the legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed, the founding father of the UAE. His life and his leadership to unify and shape a better future, based on cooperation. The air show embodied the cooperation of the four carriers and presented the success story of the national aviation industry locally and globally.

Eleven aircraft took part in the world's first air show, an achievement for the UAE's civil aviation industry, including the Dubai 737 Max 8 (Zayed 1), Air Arabia Airbus A320 (Zayed 2) and Airbus A380 (Zayed 3), the Emirates Airbus A380 (Zayed 4) and seven aircraft for the UAE Air Cavalry Team. All the commercial aircraft participating in the exhibition carried the poster «General Zayed». This is the first air show of its kind to involve aircraft of this variety of models.

The air show began at 1 pm yesterday, when the aircraft took off from Al Maktoum International Airport in Dubai and began to enter the formation when they reached heights between 2000 and 5000 feet, and a distance of 1000 feet. Each aircraft was modified upon arrival at Ras Al Khaimah, its speed to fly in parallel. The aircraft then flew on their designated routes and the distance between them was reduced to 300 feet. From Ras Al Khaimah, Umm Al Quwain and Ajman, the emirate's most prominent landmarks include the Sharjah Corniche, Palm Island and the World Islands with Burj Khalifa in the background, Abu Dhabi Corniche and Sheikh Zayed Mosque. The aircraft then returned to their airports to land.

The Director General of the General Authority for Civil Aviation, Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi, said that the role of the Authority in this historic air show is to ensure communication and coordination between all stakeholders and national carriers involved, to ensure the details of the flights.
