A 21-year-old man from Wuppertal was seriously injured in a traffic accident on Sunday morning. The accident occurred when the Ford Fiestas driver tried to overtake a taxi. His car was hit against a tree, then thrown back and left lying on the roof, it says in the police report. Previously, the man delivered a longer, spectacular chase with the police.

At around 3:47 am, police officers from Sögel, Emsland County, asked the young man to stop to control him. However, he continued his journey undeterred. Attempted officials also tried to stop the driver. In total, ten cars were in action at the end.

But for the man it went according to police report with Tempo 170 undeterred on the main road to Meppen. He even countered overtaking maneuvers by avoiding the oncoming lane.

The driver does not have a valid driving license

Finally, other police officers called out a so-called stop-stick on the main road, the successor of the nail belt. The triangular elements with hollow tubes inside allow the air to escape in a controlled way from the car tires. Although the man overrun the obstacle, he was able to flee further. Shortly after four, the accident occurred.

The man was taken by the rescue service with life-threatening injuries in a hospital. As it turned out later, he was not in possession of a valid driver's license.
