Junkie XL makes music for Sonic the Hedgehog film

Junkie XL, the Dutch DJ and composer who previously made music for films like Mortal Engines and Deadpool, will again compose the music for a large production. He will take care of the soundtrack of Sonic the Hedgehog, the game filming that will be released at the end of this year.

Junkie XL, who is actually called Tom Holkenborg, tells this in an interview with Film Music Magazine .

Director Jeff Fowler wants the film to be a combination of liveaction and animation. Fowler is assisted by Tim Miller, who previously directed Deadpool . Leading roles are for Jim Carrey, Ben Schwartz and James Marsden.

The Sonic hedgehog was launched by Sega in 1991 and the computer game, in which Sonic goes to war to liberate his animal friends from the clutches of Doctor Robotnik, has been sold no less than 360 million times. The game serves as a guide for the story of the film.

Holkenborg is best known for his musical contributions for Mad Max: Fury Road and Deadpool , but also contributed to The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice .
