New Zealand's butcher's grandmother, who committed the crime of the two synagogues in Christchurch, expressed "not believing" her grandson's committing such a heinous massacre, calling him "a good boy."

Joyce Tarant, a 94-year-old Australian, said the Australian, a cold-blooded young man who had shot himself praying at the Nur Mosque, was "not her grandson," she said.

The news of the horrific terrorist crime committed by Brenton Tarant was "shocking" to his family, especially to his mother Sharon, who taught English in a classroom at McLean High School, when she received the news.

After receiving dozens of phone calls on Friday night, Brenton's mother was called in from the class and informed of the bloody attack her son committed in New Zealand.

His mother and sister Lauren are believed to have been sent to an unknown location after being summoned by Australian anti-terrorism police on Friday night and investigated with them about the bloody attack.

The Australian police went to the rest of the Tarant family after being confirmed.

Grandmother Joyce revealed that Tarant visited his family in Grafton, north of New South Wales twice during the past year and last on Christmas.

"It's very shocking, especially since Brenton is the actor, he's a good boy," Joyce told the Daily Mail.
