The daughter of India's richest man was married yesterday at a traditional wedding in Mumbai, attended by Bollywood stars and former US presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.
The marriage brings together two of the most influential families in India. Esha Ambani, 27, is the daughter of Mukesh Ambani, president of Reliance, which Forbes estimates is worth $ 43 billion.
Anand Biramal, 33, is the heir to real estate and pharmaceuticals.
The wedding was held at Mumbai's Mumbai residence, a 27-storey tower known to be one of the most expensive residences in the world. The building was covered with red flowers and decorated with lamps and flowers.
The groom and his family arrived in classic cars while security guards and pedestrians blocked a narrow corridor in southern Mumbai leading to the building.
