The former secretary of state and current mayor of Draveil Georges Tron has been acquitted of charges of rape against him.
More than seven years after the start of the case resulting in his resignation from the government, the Assize Court acquitted ex-Secretary of State Georges Tron, tried for the rapes of two former municipal employees, "I spent seven extremely difficult years. I think of my family. I realize that my fate is in your hands. I am totally innocent of the facts which are reproached to me " , had declared the elected of Essonne before the court finally renders its verdict.
"I tell you again that I did not commit the facts, that I am innocent," said his former deputy mayor of Draveil Brigitte Gruel, judged by his side.
The lawyer-general on Wednesday demanded six years in prison against Georges Tron, "leader" according to him scenes denounced. Four years in prison were claimed against Brigitte Gruel, "little soldier" .
