The British musician is this year the star of the traditional Christmas advertisement of the chain of stores John Lewis & Partners. In a nostalgic clip intended to move in English cottages, Sir Elton goes back in time to evoke the moment when music entered his life.

The British love the magic of Christmas and the department stores of their country are not the last to encourage this inclination ... and the purchases that go with, of course.

In his new end-of-the-year commercial, John Lewis & Partners, which has traditionally relied on stars, won Sir Elton John's participation in person.

The Boy and the Piano starts on a close up of the 71-year-old keyboard player, melancholy and absorbed. On the background of his famous Your Song stroll , the images go back in time. It is a carefully crafted montage of excerpts from his most memorable concerts and reconstructions of great moments of his childhood, with the help of a young actor who looks a little like him, at the end.

The highlight of this video is giving a nice present to the real-fake little Elton. A piano, of course. "Some gifts are more than just presents," concludes the emotion sequence.

Elton John, child, did he really discover a piano at the foot of the tree? Not sure. What is certain is that the moment when he played for the first time on his grandmother's piano marked it enormously. "John Lewis's campaign has brought back so many warm family memories! It was a great opportunity for me to reflect on my musical career and the incredible journey I have accomplished, " he said in a statement also online on the website of John Lewis & Partners.
