Disney officially announced Thursday that there will be a series about the Marvel character Loki. CEO Bob Iger said this in the presentation of the quarterly figures of the company.

Disney announced at the meeting two live series for the new streaming platform Disney +.

One of the series revolves around Cassian Andor, played by Diego Luna, a protagonist in the movie Rogue One: A Sar Wars Story . The other liveaction series is called The Mandalorian and is directed by Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni.

Loki is the third liveaction series and is one of the characters from the Avengers films, a Marvel production. The series of Marvel can still be seen on Netflix. Iger confirmed that the series is under development, but when the series can also be seen on the new platform, it was not announced. Whether Tim Hiddleston, like in the Avengers films, Loki plays is not clear yet.

It was already known that Disney is going to get all its own content from Netflix and that all Marvel productions will probably also disappear from Netflix. According to CEO Iger, it is now time to "stand on your own feet".

Initially, Disney + is only available in the United States. After that the service will be offered worldwide.
