A video shot Thursday and relayed on social networks shows a teenager standing in a classroom, threatening the teacher with a gun by asking him to write "present" and not "absent" on the time sheet. A high school student suspected of being a student threat is still in custody on the evening of Saturday, October 20.

The video, spotted by the newspaper Le Parisien , circulates on social networks. On the images, shot on Thursday, a teenager threatens his teacher with a dummy weapon at the high school Edouard-Branly, in Créteil (Val-de-Marne). He asks her to write "present" and not "absent" on the attendance sheet. The teacher, sitting in front of a computer, seems tired rather than panicked, while a certain ruckus is perceptible in the classroom. She complained the next day, accompanied by her hierarchy, said the rectorate of Créteil.

A 16-year-old boy, suspected of being the one who wields the weapon, went with his father to the police station on Friday. He was still in custody late Saturday afternoon and was to be presented Sunday to a judge for children, said the prosecutor. Another teenager of the same age, suspected of having introduced the weapon in the establishment, was arrested Friday at his home and placed in custody, according to the floor. He was then released without prosecution Saturday at the end of the day, the weapon of the video turns out to be an "airsoft type" ball gun, a source close to the file said.

Blanquer and Castaner react

There is also prosecution of the person who recorded and broadcast the video, which is "being identified" , and an "assessment of the psychological impact of the victim" will be conducted, the prosecutor's office said.

The rectorate of Creteil condemned "very firmly this act" as the Minister of Education, Jean-Michel Blanquer, who assured on Twitter that "the most stringent measures were taken immediately" and who testified of his " solidarity with the teacher " . The Minister of the Interior Christophe Castaner sent him on the same social network "all (his) support for the professor cowardly threatened" , denouncing "heinous acts" .

I strongly condemn the acts of threat against a professor who arrived Thursday at the E. Branly high school in Créteil.
The most stringent measures were taken immediately: complaint filed, custody which will be followed by disciplinary sanctions. Solidarity with the teacher

The video has also sparked political reactions right and far right. The LR president of the Ile-de-France region Valérie Pécresse said on Twitter "outraged by this new act of violence committed by underage students" while asking for "exemplary sanctions" .

"Not a high school that is used to that kind of thing"

"It's not a high school that is used to this kind of things," however qualified Didier Sablic, professor for nearly 25 years in the institution concerned, the high school Edouard-Branly of Créteil, where there is according to him "a lot of projects" and "work with students on communication and respect" . The students concerned were "as a precaution removed from the courses and there will be a Disciplinary Board at the beginning of the school year, which does not prejudge the rest of the judicial proceedings," he added.

A meeting is planned after the All Saints' school holidays with the high school team "so that everyone can give their feelings" and "try to have a common message to students and parents" , he adds.
