In a shark attack on the Great Barrier Reef off the coast of Australia, a man has been injured. The disaster occurred near the tourist-popular Whitsunday Islands, the authorities said. It was the fourth shark attack in the region in six months.

Rescue workers were summoned to a diving station in the sea Monday after a 25-year-old man had been injured by a shark on his thigh. He does not seem to be in mortal danger, the rescue teams said.
