Five months after its installation in the village of Viviers (Ardèche), a brand new version of the statue of Johnny Hallyday was inaugurated this Saturday, November 3rd. The sculptor, mocked for the lack of resemblance between his work and the face of the star, made a new molding. This time, the fans seem satisfied.

Five months after its inauguration, the Johnny Hallyday statue in Viviers (Ardèche) has a whole new face. A new version of the monument was inaugurated Saturday, November 3, reports the Dauphiné Libéré .

It must be said that the first version of the monument, unveiled on June 16 in the presence of 2,000 fans, was not unanimous. For the admirers of the star, the face of the first statue was sorely lacking in resemblance, to the point of causing a real bad buzz and many mockery.

The fans seem satisfied

Under the fire of critics, the sculptor Daniel Georges has agreed to review his copy. The artist took the time to reshape Johnny Hallyday's face to make it look more like him. "I worked for a month and a half on this new head. The previous one, I had to do it in a day and a half! It's different , recognizes the sculptor. I think the admirers will be more satisfied. "

This time, the bet seems won. The members of the two associations that deal with the monument "seemed to approve," says Le Dauphine . The artist remains pragmatic: "I know there will always be criticism, because it's a figure, Johnny Hallyday" . On Facebook, some fans praised the "good job" of the sculptor: "Now it looks like Johnny! "
