"The seismic event with a magnitude of 3.8 occurred at the point with coordinates of 54.06 north latitude, 160.27 east longitude, at a depth of 50 kilometers," the message indicated.
The epicenter of the earthquake was located 156 km north-east of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.
Tremors in the settlements of the region were not felt.
Earlier it was reported that an earthquake of 4.3 magnitude was recorded in Kamchatka.
