American singer and songwriter Sarah Barrels turned her frustration from the 2016 presidential election to Penn, writing love songs to former US President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle.

Her new album "Amidst the Chaos" reflects her concern and resentment at the election of President Donald Trump on the one hand, and her support of social movements, including women's empowerment movements, on the other.

"In the middle of the chaos," Barrells said, "the world seems to me like a hot tin half the time these days." Barrels, 39, who made her way to fame in 2007 with her single song Love Song, was shocked when Obama left the White House. "I miss them, yes, I write love songs in them," she said.

"So I dealt with my grief and my pain honestly when I disappeared, so I write them songs .. It's kind of (I miss you) .. It is a nice way to communicate feelings I did not know any other way to transfer».
