Mexico's attorney general said a Mexican couple had been arrested while transporting parts of a human body into a stroller that could have been responsible for killing 20 women.

Attorney General Alejandro Gómez Sánchez told Radio Familia that the man had admitted to taking part in 20 murders, adding that the man could be considered a murderer.

The couple were arrested last Thursday in the city of Ekaterbek near the capital city of Mexico City. Police found more human remains inside cement-filled crows, as well as inside a refrigerated freezer in two couples-related properties.

The couple are also suspected of selling a baby girl who had one of their victims, although the police later found her, and the people who bought her were arrested.

Sanchez said the man had expressed "happiness" at the hearings with the authorities concerned about the killings.

The prosecutor added that the killings "were a source of pride for him and gave us this information willing to appear publicly in a published form, so that people know he is a murderer."

However, the prosecutor pointed out that the man should undergo psychological examination, and said he might have exaggerated the number of murders he committed.

Sanchez said the man had so far provided concrete information on 10 deaths.

Mexico's state of Mexico City is one of Mexico's most violent states. Authorities have recorded 1,400 murders since the start of the year and 64 killings of women.
