A baby was recovered from the wreckage of a burnt car in eastern Germany following a crash that killed three adults, German police said on Friday.

Police said the cause of the accident on Thursday was not clear.

The driver reportedly lost control of the car, which deviated from the road near Koten in Saxony-Anhalt, where it hit a tree and caught fire.

Police found that adults could not escape the car after the accident.

However, one of the rescuers who arrived at the scene managed to rescue the child, who was treated by paramedics at the site.

Police did not give details of the people who died in the incident.
