100 years since the death of Vera Kholodnaya

One of the first actresses of the domestic silent film Vera Cold became famous in the 1910s, playing in the films “Life for Life”, “Last Tango”, “Tortured Souls”, “Mirages” and “Silence, Sadness, Silence”. Despite the short cinematic career - only about five years - Cold managed to play in dozens of films (according to various estimates, from 35 to 50). Her partners in the movie were famous actors, including Osip Runich and Witold Polonsky. The actress also collaborated with renowned directors: Vladimir Gardin, Peter Chardynin and Yevgeny Bauer. Vera Kholodnaya died in Odessa on February 16, 1919, fell ill with the Spanish flu.
