The Sharjah Book Authority has launched the Art Production Workshop, which aims to enhance the abilities of Emirati painters and develop their skills to create new visual solutions for children's stories and books.

The program is part of the preparations for the selection of Sharjah as the guest of honor of the Bologna International Children's Book Fair 2020. The workshops will be held at the Authority's headquarters to develop the skills of Emirati painters and enhance their artistic abilities in the field of illustrations for children. , So that they can build characters, places suitable for children's books, and employ visual aesthetics in the UAE environment to reach a unique artistic value that contributes to the production of visual identities attractive to children.

The project was supervised by a group of Arab and international artists, including: Nasser Nasrallah (UAE), Estelle Meza (Mexico), Salah El Murr (Sudan), Walid Taher (Egypt), Francesca Venaga And Andrea Peklar (Slovenia).

For her part, the Director of Exhibitions and Festivals at the Sharjah Book Authority Khawla Al-Mujaini said that these workshops will contribute to the creation of the Emirati artists' creations towards more modern and modern horizons, noting that the project contributes to opening the window to a selection of Emirati innovators to identify new and sophisticated technical styles and mechanisms, As well as the opportunity to exchange experiences and knowledge with their counterparts from various international art schools, especially during the Bologna International Children's Book Fair, which brings together some of the most important painters and children's writers from around the world.
