There are no figures available for footballers who end up bankrupt after leaving the sport. The keys to the financial problems of footballers are the age at which they generate their income, the environment that surrounds them and, after retirement, the drastic decrease in income that occurs. "You acquire a standard of living during your football years that you don't like to give up," says financial advisor Javier Arizmendi.
