The death of a Japanese star, at the age of 40 ... and suspected suicide
Japanese actress Yuko Takeuchi has died in an apparent suicide at her home in Tokyo, informed sources said Sunday.
The Japanese agency, Kyodo, quoted the sources as saying that Takeuchi (40 years) was taken to hospital early Sunday morning, where her death was confirmed.
No suicide note was found.
Takeuchi has won a number of film awards in Japan, including the Japan Film Academy Award for Outstanding Performance as an Actress.
She was among the winners for three consecutive years from 2004, according to its official website.
It is noteworthy that the accident comes less than two weeks after the Japanese actress Sai Ashina (36 years old) was found and died in her home on the 14th of this month.
Kyodo reported at the time that investigation sources suspected suicide as the cause of death.
