The total number of recorded cases of COVID-19 in the country reached 458 689, 221 388 people were cured of the disease, 5 725 patients died.

According to Rospotrebnadzor, more than 12.3 million tests for coronavirus infection have already been conducted in Russia since the spread of infection. 314,541 people are currently under medical supervision due to suspected COVID-19.

In turn, the Ministry of Emergencies said that as a measure to combat the spread of the virus in the country, more than 5.5 thousand km of roads were processed, as well as more than 28 thousand objects of transport infrastructure.

“We managed to turn the tide, but nonetheless, we continue to provide assistance to patients with coronavirus infection,” TASS quoted him as saying.

The deputy minister said that Moscow has already passed the peak of the increase in incidence.

On the eve of Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said that next week the authorities of the capital can decide on the start of a new phase of lifting restrictive measures. He recalled that in Moscow positive dynamics continued: there were fewer detected cases of COVID-19 and pneumonia, and the number of deaths was reduced. 

Several other Russian regions also decided to relax the restrictions introduced due to the pandemic. So, the governor of the Belgorod region, Yevgeny Savchenko, signed a decree according to which, on June 6, summer cafes, parks, squares and recreational areas will resume work in the region. In particular, we are talking about the zoo, museums, exhibition halls and libraries, microfinance organizations, outdoor sports grounds.

The transition to the second stage of mitigation measures was also reported by the leadership of the Omsk region. Governor Alexander Burkov said that trade objects with an area of ​​not more than 800 square meters can be opened in the region. m and individual educational organizations.

In addition, the government of Primorsky Krai said that residents of the Nakhodka city district are allowed to go for walks and play sports on the street in groups of no more than two people from June 6, with a social distance of less than five meters. In turn, the governor of the Moscow Region Andrei Vorobyov on the Russia 1 television channel said that they were considering the possibility of opening shopping centers in the region, however, according to the chief sanitary doctor of the Moscow Region, such a measure would be premature.

“We wanted to open shopping centers, we wanted to add something else to the dose of exemptions that we have made, but cannot. The chief sanitary doctor, our experts say that this is early, ”Vorobyov said.

It should be noted that the Ministry of Justice of Russia emphasized that the measures taken in the country to combat coronavirus are in line with international experience, are only temporary and are regularly reviewed for compliance with the current situation.

The ministry also noted that these measures "certainly meet the constitutional goals of protecting the life and health of citizens, are commensurate with the threat of the spread of the epidemic in Russia."

Meanwhile, the World Health Organization has revised its recommendations regarding the use of medical masks. WHO Director-General Tedros Adhan Ghebreyesus said that the organization recommends the use of protective equipment, including in public transport.

“In light of the evidence revealed, WHO advises governments to recommend the use of masks by the population where the virus is widespread and physical distance is difficult - for example, in public transport, in shops and other crowded places,” RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.
