On the eve of Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said that next week the authorities of the capital can decide on the start of a new phase of lifting restrictive measures. He recalled that in Moscow positive dynamics continued: there were fewer detected cases of COVID-19 and pneumonia, and the number of deaths was reduced.
Several other Russian regions also decided to relax the restrictions introduced due to the pandemic. So, the governor of the Belgorod region, Yevgeny Savchenko, signed a decree according to which, on June 6, summer cafes, parks, squares and recreational areas will resume work in the region. Meanwhile, the World Health Organization has revised its recommendations regarding the use of medical masks. WHO Director-General Tedros Adhan Ghebreyesus said that the organization recommends the use of protective equipment, including in public transport.
