The Internal Security Forces in Lebanon seized 2.2 kilograms of heroin intended for smuggling to a North African country in a shipment that includes a wedding dress, women's accessories, and kitchenware.
In a statement, the Internal Security Forces indicated that information was available about "unknown persons preparing a wedding dress shipping, and women's decorations and tools used in the kitchen, suspected of containing drugs intended for smuggling to a North African country by a shipping company."
"After searching it, it was found that it contained 2.2 kg of heroin," the statement added.
The security forces explained that "the identity of one of those involved in this process has been identified and arrested, and he is Lebanese," noting that "the investigation is under the supervision of the competent judiciary, and work is continuing to arrest the rest of those involved."
In recent years, the Lebanese security forces have seized large quantities of industrial drugs imported into Lebanon, as well as large quantities of drugs intended for export.
