The UAE government has announced the launch of the '360-degree acceleration economy' initiative, under a strategic partnership with the World Economic Forum, to harness the potential of technological innovation and smart technologies to accelerate the circular economy.
The initiative comes in the wake of the conclusion of the fourth session of the World Future Councils meetings, which was held over two days in Dubai, and within the framework of the strategic directions of the UAE to create a qualified environment and sustainable infrastructure to support the growth of vital economic, social and environmental sectors to serve humanity, while the UAE embraces the first of these partnerships Globally, more countries will be expanded and involved in the future to create a global network of change makers.
The Minister of Climate Change and Environment, Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al-Zyoudi, said that the UAE, in its efforts to achieve sustainability at all sectors, is working to establish the principles of sustainable production and consumption among all components of society. The state, thanks to the guidance of its wise leadership on the implementation and application of the standards of this type of economy ».
He added that «the commitment to move towards the circular economy, the UAE signed as the first country in the global initiative (accelerate the circular economy 360), under which will work to intensify efforts to implement the standards of this economy through the launch of several initiatives and projects involving all sectors, and will strengthen and increase partnership Collaboration between all components of the society, including the private sector, government and individuals, to formulate and implement sustainability trends in production and consumption. ”
