“High professionalism and impeccable endurance were demonstrated during the performance of combat missions in the Democratic Republic of Afghanistan and the territory of the North Caucasus region of Russia,” the Russian Defense Ministry website said in a statement.
Shoigu also noted the high contribution of scientific and production teams, whose work is aimed at modernizing the equipment of tank units and formations.
Earlier, the head of the Russian Ministry of Defense held telephone conversations with his French counterpart Florence Parley.
