The leader of the Sadrist movement in Iraq, Muqtada al-Sadr, said today, Sunday, that a parliamentary resolution calling for an end to the presence of foreign forces is not enough, calling for the humiliation of the American forces and calling for the local and foreign armed factions to unite.
In a letter to parliament read by one of his supporters, Al-Sadr, who leads the Parliamentary Bloc of Saeron, considered that the parliament’s approval of a decision that obliges the government to work to end the presence of foreign forces on Iraqi soil is a poor response that is not sufficient for the American violation of Iraqi sovereignty and regional escalation.
Al-Sadr called for the necessity of canceling the security agreement with the United States immediately, closing the American embassy, expelling the American forces in a humiliating manner, and criminalizing communication with the US government and punishing it.
"Finally, I invite the Iraqi resistance factions in particular and the factions outside Iraq to an immediate meeting to announce the formation of international resistance regiments."
And the local Iraqi media had yesterday quoted the commander of the operations of the Iraqi "Hezbollah Brigades" (a faction of the Popular Mobilization), calling on the Iraqi security forces to stay away from the military bases in which the American forces are present starting from Sunday.
The head of the Iraqi Al-Fateh Alliance, Hadi Al-Amiri, also pledged that the price of the blood of Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis, the deputy chief of the popular crowd who was assassinated by the American attack with the Quds Force commander, Qassem Soleimani and others, would be the removal of American forces from Iraq forever.
