His Highness conveyed the greetings of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, to President Maki Sall, and his wishes to the Republic of Senegal and its friendly people for their continued progress, development and stability.

His Highness, during the talks, referred to the meeting he met with the Senegalese President last year, and said: “The last meeting we gathered was about a year ago, when I honored us with attending the Special Olympics World Games 2019, I was pleased with your participation in this event, and I am happy to renew the meeting with you, and we are keen To communicate and consult on everything that matters for the two friendly countries. ”

His Highness stressed that «the relations between the UAE and the Republic of Senegal are strong and solid, and - since its establishment in 1973 - has witnessed important development at all levels, until the UAE has become the first commercial partner for Senegal at the level of Arab countries, and that Senegal is an important partner for the Emirates in the West African region ».

His Highness praised the efforts of the UAE-Senegalese joint committee in promoting bilateral work between the two countries, and its important role in this regard.

His Highness praised the vital cooperation between the two countries in the field of innovation and sustainable development, adding his highness: “The choice of the Republic of Senegal to be the regional headquarters for the (Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship), which was established by the UAE, was a clear embodiment of this cooperation.”

Addressing the Senegalese President, His Highness said: “The UAE appreciates your constructive role, through the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, in supporting the issues of Islam and Muslims, and your sincere efforts in showing the civilized face of our Islamic religion, which is free from extremism and violence.”

His Highness stated: “The UAE has made great strides during the past years in strengthening and deepening its relations with the African continent, on strong foundations of mutual respect, trust and common interests, and working for development, peace and stability for the people of the continent.” His Highness indicated that “this increases From deepening Emirati-Senegalese relations, especially since Senegal has an important role and an influential presence in Africa. ” His Highness expressed the wishes of the UAE for the success of the 33rd Summit of the African Union, which will be held in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa a few days later.

For his part, the Senegalese President expressed his thanks for the invitation, the warm reception and the generous hospitality extended to him and the accompanying delegation, and expressed his greetings to His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, and his wishes for the UAE further progress and prosperity.

He emphasized the distinguished relations between the two friendly countries and peoples, expressing his thanks to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, for his support of these relations.
