Obama led a delegation of prominent public figures and representatives of the "Obama Foundation", including Roberts and Jenna Bush Hagar (daughter of former US President George W. Bush), American-Vietnamese actress Lana Condor, Vietnamese actress Ngo Thanh Van, and YouTube star Lisa Kochi .

The Michelle Obama trip is part of the Obama Foundation's Girls Empowerment Program, which aims to empower teenagers around the world. The team visited the "Kun Geuk High School", located about 40 kilometers south of Ho Chi Minh City, to promote girls' education.
