At Swedish For Immigrants, SFI, in Norrköping, students have now been borrowed computers to take home. The instruction from the municipality is that the teaching should be kept at a distance, but it has been difficult for some students.
- You don't get digitized just by getting a computer, says Åsa Andersson Rosin, a teacher at the school.
She says that most of her students learn to read and write for the first time in their lives and in a mother tongue that is not theirs. In addition, they have often never worked with a computer before and have no internet at home.
These are the factors that make it clear that distance learning does not work for everyone. Therefore, it has been decided that the students with the biggest problems should be able to come to school a couple of times a week in small groups with a maximum of three people in each, to get support and help.
