Peace, tolerance and the homeland .. Messages drawn by works of art exhibited by galleries participating in Abu Dhabi Art 11th session currently held in Manarat Al Saadiyat, through different visions and schools of art, although different, but it refers to the ability of art to express human issues and move them to the world beyond Languages ​​and cultures vary, from a peace rug woven by Afghan hands to paintings of the map of Palestine and its oil. The 'Peace Carpet' is one of the most prominent works of art at the 11th edition of the exhibition, which concludes this evening. It is not just a carpet but a project launched by HH Sheikha Fatima bint Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in 2014, carrying a sophisticated humanitarian message to replace the carpet. The notorious Afghan war, reflecting a tradition that originated in Afghanistan as a result of decades of military conflict in the country, then carpet weavers began to embody images of war in their designs such as weapons, tanks and soldiers. The Peace Carpet project, in contrast, seeks to employ traditional carpet makers' skills to counter the presence of war vocabulary in what they make and encourage them to weave their vision of peace. The carpet designs reflect the balance of justice, cattle and schools, and the project's products are chemical-free and made of 100% Afghan wool obtained legally and sustainably.

The pavilion is centered on a carpet with the words "Human Brotherhood for Global Peace and Coexistence," which was signed in Abu Dhabi in the presence of Grand Imam Ahmad al-Tayyib, the Grand Sheikh of Al-Azhar, and the Holy Father in February.

Tolerance is also evident in the artistic messages carried by the Abu Dhabi Art Pavilions, including the Abu Dhabi Group for Culture and Arts, which included various works that reflected the manifestations of tolerance in Arab culture and the UAE society over the years, including a painting by Emirati calligrapher Mohammad Mandi in which he embodied the word tolerance in a clear diwani script Sarah Haddad's work, I See You, and a third work titled “Color of Memory” by Maria Jose Rodriguez.

Journey

The French-Tunisian artist El Sayed has not moved far away from the messages of peace, tolerance and renunciation of war in his project “The Journey”, which he participates in «Abu Dhabi Art», and presented by the Foundation “81 Designs” in its pavilion. The project represents a symbolic celebration of the year of tolerance. The artist's trip to Ain el-Helweh camp in southern Lebanon, where he carried out seven mural paintings showing his distinctive style in spreading the messages of unity and peace, and then the women of the camp simulated each mural designed within this project through the traditional art of embroidery on canvas. Eternal map

The Palestinian cause attended strongly and creatively in several works of art at the exhibition, which reflected the adherence of the people of Palestine to their homeland and their land, despite their suffering from the occupation, including works by the artist Hazem Harb in the gallery «Tabari Art Space», embodied in a painting including pictures of olive trees, and in the forefront books in English letters "Holy Land" in a style similar to the word "Hollywood" famous, and another painting entitled "eternal map", and shows Palestinians planting their land, as well as his work "temporary souvenirs", which embody two suitcases containing vintage documents and black and white photographs of the displacement of the people of Palestine in the wake of the Nakba in 1948 .

«Picasso in Palestine»

The artist Khaled Hourani expressed the suffering of the people of Palestine from the restrictions of the occupation, with a work of art carrying a creative idea entitled «Picasso in Palestine», displayed in the gallery corner of the corner, and showed a painting of Picasso displayed on a wall, and next to it stood two soldiers marked on their faces rigorous and placed barriers, In another painting, two East Asian soldiers stand in the background, two young Palestinian men covering their faces with the famous keffiyeh, and behind them a series of pairs that reflect the concept of detention.

The artist, Suleiman Mansour, formed his paintings with clay, an expression of the Palestinian's association with his land and homeland.

While the artist Nabil Anani embodied extended areas of olive trees, and the gallery itself exhibited figures of Wafaa Hourani, including one for the Aqsa Mosque and another panorama of Qalandia.
