This Friday, SOS Doctors Bordeaux communicated on a suspected case of coronavirus that it took care of on Thursday. The man was received in an SOS Doctors consultation center for fever and cough. Questioned by the doctor, he explains that he returns from China after passing through the Netherlands and that he has stayed or been in contact with people from Wuhan province, the home of the coronavirus epidemic.
“The doctor instantly switches to Absolute Emergency mode. He provides the patient with a mask and begins to wear one. He signals to the other doctors at the Bordeaux consultation center that he places the consultation room in absolute isolation, ”explains SOS Doctors. The patient was removed by SMUR to the Bordeaux University Hospital following a strict protocol. The patient was hospitalized there for an assessment and remains under close observation.
The regional health agency, contacted by 20 Minutes , recalls that there is no confirmed case of coronavirus in France at present and that suspect cases may be numerous since symptoms, such as cough and fever , are common.
