Pedro Sánchez
announced this Friday that the investment for the expansion of Madrid's
Barajas
airport will reach
2.4 billion euros
, which will allow it to reach a capacity of 90 million passengers in 2031.
According to the President of the Government, this is the "largest investment in the last decade in Spain's airport infrastructure."

by maximum declared capacity with four runways, an area of 35 km2, a hub for Asian airlines parallel to that of IAG and the handling of 90 million passengers (28 % more than now) in 2031.

Last year more than 20 million passengers passed through it, ahead of El Prat (Barcelona), with more than 16 million, and Palma de Mallorca, with more than 11 million.
