Chinanews.com, Beijing, December 12 (Reporter Li Jinlei, Song Yusheng) When you taste the delicious hamburger set, have you ever wondered where these ingredients come from?

You probably wouldn't imagine that the burgers, fries, vegetable salads, and drinks on the tray are all made from different countries, and the combination of these ingredients requires the mobilization of supply chains that are almost all over the world. This is a green agricultural chain with win-win cooperation.

From "pastoral" to "table" whole chain products and services

At the site of the first Chain Expo, a large number of the world's top 500, China's top 500 and industry leading enterprises gathered in the green agriculture chain exhibition area, showing the whole chain of products and services from "pastoral" to "table".

Taking a burger set meal as an example, Wang Xudong, senior manager of the corporate affairs department of Burger King (Beijing) Catering Management Co., Ltd., revealed that the meatloaf in the burger is provided by COFCO and Heilongjiang Binxi and other companies, the vegetables are provided by Beijing Yunong and other companies, the bread is provided by companies such as Yisbaote, the sauce is provided by Heinz and other companies, the french fries are provided by Atakey, Turkey's largest french fries production company, and the drinks are provided by Coca-Cola.

Behind this is a complex and sophisticated supply chain network. At the Chain Expo, Burger King showcased its entire industry chain supply system from agricultural products and food processing to warehousing and logistics to restaurants, fully demonstrating its strong supply chain localization capabilities and international supply ecosystem.

At present, Burger King China purchases 20 billion yuan of raw materials every year, 90% of which comes from China. Wang Xudong said that he hopes to use the national platform of the Chain Expo to show the efforts of TFI Food Investment Company in Turkey to expand the two emerging markets of Turkey and China, create an ecosystem of the whole industry chain from farmland to table, and drive the healthy and green development of the entire agricultural and food industry chain with the international brand Burger King restaurant as the leader.

China has become the core market of the global agricultural supply chain

Whether it is raw materials or processed goods, China's huge consumer base provides a huge market space for agricultural products, which makes China one of the core markets in the global agricultural supply chain.

As one of the world's largest agricultural and food companies, Cargill has been rooted in China for more than 50 years, and has built a complete supply chain system in China, leading the common development of upstream suppliers and downstream users in China.

At the first Chain Expo, Cargill showcased two symbolic routes, representing the complete supply chain of soybeans and corn, vividly illustrating how the two crops start from the farmland, go through harvesting, transportation, processing and other links, and finally appear on the market or on the table in the form of products familiar to consumers.

"The Expo has created a very good platform for us to communicate with government agencies, customers and partners, capture better business opportunities, understand industry trends and directions, and see the future development of China's green supply chain," said Guan Huili, President of Cargill China. ”

China's skilled workforce, extensive supplier ecosystem, and fast-growing domestic market have always been hugely attractive.

Guan Huili emphasized that China is a very large market, Cargill has been operating in China for more than 50 years, and we continue to be optimistic about the Chinese market, because the Chinese market has a very important strategic position for Cargill.

Work together to promote the stability and smoothness of the global food supply chain

In this global food supply chain, Chinese companies are also involved, playing an important role in every link, contributing to the stability and smoothness of the global food supply chain and food security.

At the site of the Chain Expo, CITIC Agriculture, together with Huawei, Shenzhen Kaihong and other companies, officially released the first independent and controllable agricultural open source HarmonyOS operating system in China, and the key core technologies of the whole stack are all independently developed by China, which ensures the safety and reliability of data from the source of the underlying operating system and solves the problem of agricultural data security.

Tian Ming, general manager of the digital agriculture department of CITIC Agriculture, said that the industrial chain of agriculture is very long, and the means of digitalization is to digitize all these links and each node, and then find out the optimal solution between them through the computer, reduce food loss, improve planting efficiency, and reduce planting costs, which is a microcosm of how to strengthen the agricultural chain through digitalization.

"Maintaining the stability of the global supply chain is from the upstream, midstream and downstream every link, we maintain cooperation, inclusiveness and openness, we do not want to wrestle with the zero-sum game, but hope to join hands in cooperation for win-win results." Tian Ming believes that the idea of this chain expo is different from any previous exhibition, we are not showing a product, we are not showing a certain service, we are showing a win-win attitude.

Green agricultural chain, sowing hope for a better future. Globalization allows us to taste delicious foods from all over the world in one burger. This requires us to oppose various forms of "decoupling and breaking chains" and jointly build a mutually beneficial and win-win industrial and supply chain. (ENDS)
