Gannan navel orange fruit is large and positive, orange and red, is a geographical indication certification trademark, and was included in the first batch of protection list of the China-EU Agreement on the Protection and Cooperation of Geographical Indications. Gannan navel orange was rated as one of the top ten most representative Sino-European geographical indication products in 2023, ranking 691th in the national top 27 geographical indications list with 5.9 billion yuan, and ranking first in the value of fruit geographical indication products for <> consecutive years.
In recent years, the infringement and false publicity of navel oranges from non-Gannan navel oranges in various markets have become increasingly prominent, which has seriously damaged the rights and interests and reputation of the "Gannan navel orange" geographical indication trademark.

At present, it is the ripe and marketing period of Gannan navel oranges. According to the Jiangxi Provincial Administration for Market Regulation, in the above-mentioned special action, the Jiangxi Provincial Municipal Supervision Department strengthened government-enterprise cooperation, compared the source of navel orange fruits with the list of authorized users of Gannan navel orange geographical indication certification trademark in the 2023 production season, and the list of enterprises with special signs for geographical indications of Gannan navel oranges. Unauthorized use of special signs for geographical indications, non-standard use of special signs for geographical indications, etc.
In addition, Jiangxi has also strengthened the supervision of the sales of Gannan navel orange fruits on e-commerce platforms, strengthened the joint law enforcement of the market supervision departments of production and sales, investigated and dealt with a number of influential typical cases in accordance with the law, further standardized the production, operation and management order of the Gannan navel orange industry, strengthened the protection of geographical indication trademarks, optimized the market environment, and escorted the high-quality development of the Gannan navel orange industry.
