The United Arab Emirates topped the first place in the Arab world in the Human Development Report 2020 issued by the United Nations Development Program, ahead of the global ranking by four places over last year's ranking, to be ranked 31 globally out of 189 countries covered by the report.

His Excellency added: "This progress made by the state in the global competitiveness reports came thanks to the successful policies pursued by the government of the United Arab Emirates, as it was and is still based on developing human resources in the country and achieving the highest rates of development and growth in the fields of education, health and quality of life, and aimed at achieving the goals. For her part, Acting Director of the Federal Center for Competitiveness and Statistics, Hanan Mansour Ahli, said, “The UAE has been in the first place in the Arab world for several years, and that it is progressing globally year after year, but it indicates the extent of the efforts made by our rational government in order to achieve the best levels of well-being for the state’s society. Ahly added, "The Human Development Report has been issued by the United Nations Program annually and since 1990, and it is a composite indicator that expresses the level of people's well-being through three dimensions (health, knowledge, and standard of living). The state has achieved this progress in the Human Development Index 2020 thanks to concerted action. The efforts of the executive team for the Human Development Index report, which consists of the Ministry of Health and Community Protection, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Economy, in addition to the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Center and the efforts of the local statistical centers in the country.
