The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport found manufacturing defects in a total of 19 car models manufactured, imported and sold by Renault Samsung Motors, Hyundai Motors, Kia Motors, GM Korea, Mercedes-Benz Korea, and Daejeon Machinery Industry, and corrective action ( Recall) announced on the 25th.

It was confirmed that the 8,1,417 SM3 Ph2s manufactured and sold by Renault Samsung Motors lacked effective engine torque.

Effective engine torque refers to the power to operate the air conditioner or radio in addition to the power to run the engine while driving the vehicle.

If the effective engine torque is insufficient, the engine may be turned off if the air conditioner is operated while driving at a low speed or if you repeatedly drive uphill or downhill, and the engine will be recalled.

The recall was decided as the possibility of a fire caused by a short circuit inside the electronically controlled hydraulic system (HECU) was confirmed for the 55,033 cars manufactured and sold by Hyundai and Kia Motors, Tucson (TL) and Stinger (CK).

HECU is a control device in which vehicle control functions such as anti-lock braking system (ABS) and electronic driving stability control (ESC) are integrated.

All-new Malibu, The New Malibu, and Trail Blazers produced, imported or sold by GM Korea are also subject to recall.

It has been confirmed that the 15,000 all-new Malibu will intermittently shut off the engine if the accelerator pedal is slightly stepped on and released during low speed or reverse due to an engine control unit (ECU) software error.

For 850 vehicles of trailblazer and dunew Malibu, there is a possibility that the braking distance may be longer when the brake is applied due to a faulty motor condition detection sensor in the electro-hydraulic brake booster.

Separately, the 9476 Volt EVs are considered a potential fire hazard if their high voltage batteries are fully charged or charged close to their full charge, and go into a temporary recall that lowers their charge to 90%.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport explained that there have been no cases of a Volt EV fire in Korea yet, but after a temporary recall as a precautionary measure, additional corrective actions will be taken through the exact cause investigation.

For 5,245 cars of 8 models, including the GLE 450 4MATIC, imported and sold by Mercedes-Benz Korea, the buckle of the rear seat center seat belt enters the gap in the seat, making it difficult to wear the seat belt, and it was confirmed that the possibility of not protecting the occupants in the event of a collision.

For 119 GLA 220 units, the fuse box installed in the engine compartment is not properly fixed, causing the fuse to be damaged due to vehicle vibrations, and it was found that there is a possibility that the engine control unit and body posture control unit may not operate properly.

Kawasaki Ninja H2 SX SE, imported and sold by Daejeon Machinery Industry, and 75 of the three two-wheeled vehicles were not properly controlled due to an engine control unit (ECU) software error, resulting in damage to the transmission gear, resulting in start-up. It has been confirmed that the possibility of turning off this.

Vehicles subject to this recall can be repaired free of charge at the manufacturer/seller service center.

The manufacturer will notify the owner of the corrective action by mail and mobile phone text message.

If the car owner has repaired it at his own expense before the recall, you can apply for compensation to the manufacturer.
