The uncertainty about the count and the results of the elections in the United States only spread for a few hours to the stock markets in Europe, which began yesterday's session with sharp falls but managed to reverse them, and in a forceful way, as the count progressed of votes.
Investors' fear was not so much that one or the other candidate would win - Joe Biden, for the Democratic Party or Donald Trump, of the Republican Party - but quite the opposite: that there would be no winner.
